I have never done this before, so bear with me. But for once, my wanting to try, having time to blog, and it being a Friday all line up! So here I go, and thanks to Moxiewife for hosing, (prayers for Jen and her family!) Go to http://moxiewife.com/2013/01/7-quick-takes-friday-8/.html for more.
Baby’s first flight(s)! The experience went well, and there are lots more details about God’s involvement in our flying adventures in the previous post so check it out!
New years turned out to be my husband and my first real “date” away from the baby since she’s been born. Gramma and Grampa who we were visiting wanted lots of time with her and convinced us to leave her for awhile on two separate occasions, drinks with brother and sister-in-law on NYE, and mass together on the first for the feast of Mary Mother of God. I hadn’t realized how much I have been missing the depth of prayer and concentration of Holy Mass sans baby. Very special treat and reminder to strive for that same depth even with baby is there! Love the special moment when my wonderful husband squeezed my hand and whispered our family goal for the new year in my ear: Holiness.
Getting to spend nearly two weeks with my husband’s parents and brothers and sisters and sister-in-law was such a blessing! I think grandparents are one of God’s most best inventions, and I hope my daughter and any other kids I am blessed to receive get to have close and long relationships with all their grandparents!
I learned how to make cheesecake! My mother in law is a spectacular cook and it makes my day whenever I get to learn one of her recipes. The chocolate chip-raspberry-NY cheesecake with Oreo crust we made was not difficult and so light and fluffy! I will post the recipe later, when I track down which phone, camera, ipod or
remote control (nope that couldn’t be it) has the picture on it. too many camera-capable devices!
I worked really hard before we left on our trip to make sure we were leaving (and thus could come home to) a clean house! It worked and was SO worth it! All I had to do our first day back was laundry, and even that was delayed by a lost bag! So I spent the day doing the chores you can never get around to; cleaning out the junk drawer, updating the pictures, notes, cards etc. on the refrigerator, and sprucing up some of our guest rooms.
Thanks for stopping by!
